Small groups

We believe we're meant to love each other, and that happens when we're together in a community. This is where we learn about God, share doubts, get support from other Christians, and build connections for doing life together.

In the fall of 2024 MCC groups went through Practicing The Way a study designed to lay a foundation for lifelong apprenticeship to Jesus.

## SMALL GROUPS

### INdividuals in GROUPS

encounter

In 2024 MCC expanded its worship experience called Encounter beyond the 12 Points campus; hosting one outdoor experience at the HWY 46 campus, and another at North Clay Middle School in Brazil, IN. In total, 5 Encounter experiences were held in 2024.

AT the movies

2024 was our third year to do At the Movies during the summer. We frequently hear from former +1s that now attend regularly, that the first time they came to MCC was during At the Movies. [Which is exactly what we were hoping for!]

serve the city

Through Serve the City MCC Students learned about practical ways they can partner with one of our local mission partners, Sleep in Heavenly Peace. In 2024, there were 46 students and 30 adults who served by helping to build bed frames for local distribution to those in need!

## Students and ## adults combined their strengths to provide free home repairs for # local homeowners who were physically or financially unable to make needed repairs. They were separated into # work teams, a kitchen team, a program team and a worship team that served our 12 Points Community for 5 days!

HOPE WEEK

internships: pouring into the next generation

MCC offers paid internships for college students during their summer breaks. In 2024 we were able to support 7 internship positions. Interns helped as additional staff during Middle School Summer Camp, High School Summer Camp, and Hope Week. They also shadowed our year-round church staff to learn about the various roles involved in weekly ministry at MCC.

Applications are now open for Summer 2025!

2024 stats:

  • 292 Emergency Removals

  • 1744 Room Reservations

  • 5232 total # of hours DCS families visited at the Hope House (3 hour average).

  • 1926 total volunteer hours served (3-hour shifts)

CARE PORTAL

In 2024, MCC helped 22 area families through CarePortal

The CarePortal platform bridges the gap between children in need and churches that want to help. Becoming a Care Portal Responder allows you to see the needs of biological families in real-time. DCS submits items that are needed to keep families from entering the foster care system or needed before reunification can occur. Items may vary, like beds, sheets, clothing, and much more, and can be gently used or brand new.

Kids Clothing & Toy Swap+

Around 60 people shopped at the 2024 swap and over 20 MCC volunteers from both campuses assisted in showing hospitality and love to their neighbors during the two-day event. Hope House bags containing community resource info, and MCC service details were given out to those in line. MCC was also able to give away several new bikes, Amazon gift cards, and other items via a raffle held just before doors were opened to let everyone inside to shop.

Donated items that remained were given to either SHINE Foster Family Resources or the Marshall Ministerial Alliance Clothing Store.
